The Trek StopÂ
Media Room
What began as a joint venture between an American family of tourists and a Belizean family of locals is now a haven in the Belizean rainforest built for student groups, travelers and people from all over the world. The Trek Stop is a small, family-run lodge located off of the Western Highway in the heart of the rainforest. The Trek Stop is just a short drive from many exciting attractions including the ancient Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, the village of San Jose Succotz and the winding Macal River.

Father and daughter duo, Tino and Denny, have been managing The Trek Stop since 1996. With the goal of affordable accommodations for all travelers - whether they are staying for one night or one month - Tino and Denny create a friendly atmosphere for their visitors. When guests stay at The Trek Stop, they are more than just tourists and even become like family. Travelers can enjoy home-cooked Belizean meals, chat with Denny's children before they head off to school or drink chilled Belikin beer with Tino while discussing the history of Belize and The Trek Stop. The Trek Stop is a home away from home in an adventure-filled environment.

A stay at The Trek Stop is much more than just a vacation. A stay at The Trek Stop is a cultural experience, a chance to be a part of the Trek Stop family and a chance to create your own narrative.
